Tacoma, WA – Come join the Sounders U-23 this weekend as they return home to Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma to take on the Washington Crossfire Friday night at 7:30 p.m., and then the North Sound SeaWolves FC on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The Sounders U-23 will look to continue the momentum from their dramatic win last Saturday over the first place Portland Timbers U-23. A late stoppage-time goal scored by Jamael Cox gave the Sounders U-23 the 1-0 win and also handed Portland their first loss of the season.

In Friday night’s match the Sounders U-23 will face a surging Washington Crossfire team who has won four of their last five games, including a 2-1 win Wednesday night over Portland. Washington now find themselves alone in third place in the PDL Northwest Division standings with 13 points, one point better than the now fourth place Sounders U-23 with 12. The Sounders U-23 will have to make sure to capitalize on chances for goals as the Washington side has the fewest goals allowed in the division with just five goals against in six games played.

Sunday’s match up offers a first look at the North Sound SeaWolves FC. With just five games played so far this year, the SeaWolves FC have 6 points with a record of 2-3-0 and find themselves in second to last place. However, the SeaWolves FC are coming into the weekend off of an impressive 3-1 home victory over a strong Vancouver Whitecaps U-23 team.

The Sounders U-23 will have a prime opportunity to improve their position in the standings this weekend with the two games at home. They will play one more home game at Cheney Stadium next Friday, June 15th, before playing their next four in a row on the road.

Tickets for this weekend’s games, and next Friday’s game at Cheney, can be purchased at the gate, or online at SoundersU23.com (CLICK HERE).
